Joanne Pears, David Nicholson & Leigh Mavir are all youth development workers for The Phoenix Youth Project. A new staff picture will appear soon replacing the current picture.
The Phoenix Youth Project team currently consists of 8 paid members and numerous volunteers. This is broken down as follows:
- Youth Development Officer
Lead Youth Development Worker
- 6 Youth Development Workers
- 12 Volunteer Youth Development Workers
A central ethos of the PYP is valuing the staff and volunteers. We now have eight members of staff consisting of six youth development workers, a new lead youth development worker who line manages the six workers and the youth development officer who manages the project and reports to the management committee comprising of four trustees. We encourage and support staff/volunteer development through training opportunities specific to youth work such as NVQ & JNC qualifications. Currently one member of the team is studying for their postgraduate diploma in youth and community studies, as well as two others working towards NVQ level 2 and 3 respectfully in youth work. As well as this training another member of staff holds the national JNC qualification in Youth and community studies, three other members of the team hold an NVQ level 2 in Youth work.
