Youth Development Fund
the Youth Development Fund (YDF) is an innovate project where young people take responsibility in planning and delivering an individual project. The project aims to broaden the horizons of young people, providing the vital spark that young people need to ignite their passions and practically develop their skills for real world success.
there are four elements to every YDF Project, it must broaden horizons, include an element of learning and culture and most importability be fun.
young people build key skills throughout the project which will focus around communication & social skills, leadership development & critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These are the skills we all need to develop to successfully tackle adult life.
This project is funded by Sellafield Ltd, who we thank for continuing to support this project not only with our young people but young people across Copeland.
Kepplewray Residential
during the May holidays we took a group of young people to Kepplewray for a two day outward bound reidential experience.
we had two fantastic days taking part in outdoor learning and fun activities. We went ghyll scrambling, rock climbing, and kayaking.
The young people enjoyed pushing themselves, with activities that they had never tried. It was physical and tough for some of the group. But they bounded together as a group and thoroughly enjoyed there time away.
